The vuvuzela has attracted international interest during the World Cup, but this is taking things a bit too far… still funny though.

I attended a wedding at Vrede En Lust in Franshoek last week and this is one of my favourite photos from the trip.

This wall of vintage photo frames is at the entrance of the tasting room at main estate.

It’s a beautiful wine farm, you should definitely make your way there.

Living in Cape Town it’s impossible not to notice the constant noise of vuvuzela’s in Long Street and the cars driving by decorated with mirror socks and flags.

There is definitely a vibe in Cape Town at the moment and it’s World Cup Fever.

FmyFine is a clever new website that offers premade excuses for lowering or getting out of traffic fines. You always laugh at peoples cars who have those horrible pink stickers attached to their windows, but as soon as it’s your… your heart sinks.

This was found stuck to my car and I almost shed a few tears, but soon found out it was a clever marketing tactic by FmyFine. The feeling of relief associated with any brand is a major win, so congrats on some clever thinking.

This video is a true example of ‘Only in South Africa’ with a domestic worker busting out to the song Dans Dans Dans by Jack Parow.

It’s been a while since the leak of the iPhone 4 prototype, which launched a buzz online, some fancy letters from Apple Lawyers and a nice little police raid. All that excitement makes me want the iPhone 4 even more!

This is to do with the release of Apple’s OS4 software, which allows for multitasking, folders and all that… and the new design and features of the iPhone 4.

Some new features seem to be:

• Front-facing video chat camera
• Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
• Camera flash
• Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
• Improved display. It’s unclear if it’s the 960×640 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the “Connect to iTunes” screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
• What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
• Split buttons for volume
• Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic

There are no words to describe the awesomeness of this guy and this video… so just watch it and enjoy.

Along with online marketing and other research, I provide quite a few companies with mystery shopping services. Mystery shopping is still quite a new and unknown form of market research in South Africa, but there has definitely been a growth in interest over the past few years.

The projects vary, but consistently uncover areas of weakness in the customer service process and allow for these areas to be addressed in staff training exercises.

Being a mystery shopper is quite an exciting job and often allows you to receive free products and services, as well as, to take part in improving the customer service levels of companies.

The two days there felt like a long holiday and will definitely go back.

On the weekend I joined a group of friends to climb Lions Head, which I hadn’t done for about a year and a half.

It’s such a quick an easy hike and only minutes away from Cape Town’s CBD.

I recently took this photo from my balcony in Cape Town when the clouds had this weird hold on the city.

I was walking around Cape Town and spotted a bit of chalk graffiti on a building and thought it was pretty cool. I then spotted the same thing on the pavement and then saw it all over the place.
It was a clever little marketing campaign by Puma.

The use of imagery allowed for their message to be translated by almost anyone into their own language and gives the vibe that the World Cup is near.
